Victoria Kirtay Memorial Fund
The Victoria Kirtay Memorial Fund at TCPS
A valued community member and TCPS parent, Victoria Kirtay lost her battle with cancer in August, 2017. Her family honors her memory by establishing The Victoria Kirtay Memorial Fund at TCPS. Victoria was born in Gunnison, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she earned a BA in Biology. She also earned her MS in Environmental Sciences from Bosphorus University, in Istanbul, Turkey. Victoria then worked for the US Navy as a Research Scientist in the Marine Sciences Division. As a lover of travelling, cooking, and swimming, Victoria graced us with her presence as a very warm, caring, and thoughtful individual whose love for her children was always her highest priority.
Victoria was a strong supporter of education. She believed in the importance of a strong, integrated and hands-on approach to science, and since her parents were both artists, she passionately believed in the value of art as part of a well-balanced education. Victoria’s memorial fund has been created to support the arts and sciences at TCPS. We are truly honored to support Victoria’s memory in this way and cannot thank the Kirtay family enough for this act of generosity. We look forward to carrying on Victoria’s legacy through art and science education.
Funds from the Victoria Kirtay Memorial Fund have been used to purchase microscopes in 2018 for our Science lab and art supplies used by students to create exhibits for our signature 2019 Big Event.
